Is any project too small?

No, we design tiny bathrooms and whole houses, all projects are equally as important to us.

How do I prepare for my initial consultation with an interior designer?

If you can have an idea of budget and what kind of style you like it’s a great way of getting the ball rolling. You can gather ideas using magazine cuttings and books, Pinterest and Houzz Boards (both online tools) are also great. However please don't worry if you don't know where to start, we are here to help and this preparation is not essential.

I don’t know what style I want – can you still help?

Absolutely. Working with a designer can help you focus on what kind of style is most suited to you and the way you live. During the briefing process we look at colour, style and the space we are working with, we often reference books, magazines and the Internet to help define what you are looking for. Following this meeting you will be sent a brief outlining the things we've discussed to check that you are happy, from this, if needed, a visual interpretation of the brief called a mood board is created. This ensures you are completely happy prior to any sample boards being worked on and presented.

What is a mood board and sample board?

A mood board sets out the colour and style of a project to give you an overall feel for what it will look like without using specific products. Once you are happy with this style (or mood) a sample board is produced which contains actual product: furniture, flooring, lighting, textiles etc. The sample boards involve a lot of product research so it is important that the 'mood' is understood prior to the real work starting. For smaller more straightforward projects such as bathrooms a mood board may not be needed.

Can you integrate my favourite pieces of furniture or accessories into the design?

Yes, we can always discuss how we can make existing items fit with the type of design you are looking and work pieces into a scheme if you would like to keep them. We can also reupholster items that need refreshing.

How do you charge?

Interior designers charge in all sorts of ways, which can be confusing. Our initial meeting is free with no obligation. Moving forward we have found the most transparent way of charging is to have a design fee per room of between £800 - £2000 depending on the size of the project, this will be agreed in advance of work starting. If the design concept covers the whole house rather than individual rooms the price will be adjusted. This design fee includes brief, mood boards and sample boards, we can then either give you product list and you can buy the items yourself, or we can buy them for you using our trade discount, typically between 20-40%, half of this discount is passed onto you. In many cases the discount you receive covers any design fee often with an additional saving.  Scale room plans and elevations are an additional charge. This gives a brief outline of fees and is subject to a site visit, we can discuss additional requirements where needed.

Where do you work?

We work mainly in South London but have taken on projects all over the UK, please do contact us wherever you live and we can discuss how we can help.
